Debt Settlement Company Wins Ethics Award
Debt Shield receives 2007 Better Business Bureau Torch Award
Columbia, MD – October 9, 2007 – Executives from Debt Shield, a Maryland-based debt settlement company, are congratulating their employees for being the first debt settlement company to win the Better Business Bureau of Greater Maryland’s Torch Award for Marketplace Ethics.
Debt Shield President John Gourdin accepted the award in the “Large Company” category during the BBB of Greater Maryland’s “Big Event” award ceremony hosted at the Baltimore Museum of Industry on September 26.
“It is truly our privilege to be recognized as a company that exemplifies integrity and trust, especially by the BBB,” said Gourdin at the award ceremony. He went on to thank the BBB, key Debt Shield executives and “last but not least, Debt Shield employees for working hard and putting up with me; without you this would not be possible.”
Gourdin credits his team’s personal dedication to helping people in need for the company’s ability to establish and maintain high ethical standards when dealing with difficult issues related to negotiating debt settlements between creditors and consumers.
“We work with ordinary Americans who are hit with financial hardships and cannot catch a break from their creditors,” Gourdin explains. “These are people who have serious medical issues, have lost a spouse or a job, and are faced with mounting bills, harassing creditors and the very real possibility of bankruptcy.”
