Debt Shield Nominated as 2007 BBB Torch Award Finalist
Columbia, MD – May 9, 2007 – The Better Business Bureau of Greater Maryland this week notified executives at Debt Shield that the Maryland-based debt settlement company is a finalist for the 2007 BBB Torch Award for Marketplace Ethics.
Each year, the BBB awards businesses in five employee-size categories and two ownership categories based on their commitment of maintaining high standards in their business practices. The goal of the program is to not only honor those companies that strive for excellence in business, but also to encourage consumers to seek out businesses that illuminate and support a fair and ethical marketplace.
Company President John Gourdin attributes the hard work of his staff for their success. While the company consists of several independent teams, he says they all work in tandem towards the common goal of helping consumers resolve their debt problems. Gourdin also says nomination for the 2007 BBB Torch Award for Marketplace Ethics is a much-appreciated morale booster for the staff.

The BBB of Greater Maryland will announce winners of the 2007 Torch Award for Marketplace Ethics at the “Big Event” awards ceremony on September 26 at the Baltimore Museum of Industry.
